11/10/2013 Rallycross Results Posted

A few stray sprinkles during the day did not put a damper on today’s Rallycross event. The course utilized two adjacent fields, and ended when the designers ran out of cones to use at about the 85 seconds in duration for stock cars. Everyone received 9 runs, and we were wrapped up well before sundown. Kudos to Mark Long and Steve Eckelman for both going above and beyond to make the event happen, along with Tom Murphy, the M&M Automotive crew, Jennifer Emerson, and everyone else who stepped forward to help out.

The final results have been posted in the results archive.

Remember, we still have one more Rallycross scheduled for December 1st before we put away the cones for the winter. Online registration is open via the link towards the top of the main PSCC home page.

Lake Taghkanic 10/27/2013 Results Posted

PSCC wrapped up our 2013 Solo (autocross) season with our first ever event at Lake Tagkanic Park. The weather was a bit chilly, but the leaves were at their colorful peak and the view of the lake was incredible. Lime Rock Park bills itself as the most beautiful race circuit in America, but I believe that Lake Taghkanic tops it in the scenery department. Let’s send out thanks to Todd Robinson for handling the paperwork, Tom Murphy for chairing the event, Mark VanDeCarr and Chris Travis for the challenging course design, and special kudos to the Saturday afternoon sweeping crew for their work cleaning the loose gravel off of the course area.

The Results Archive now have the final, raw, and PAX reports available.

This event marks the end of PSCC’s 2013 Solo season, and we would like to thank everyone for coming out to our events. It doesn’t mean that PSCC is going into winter hibernation just yet, though. Our fall Rallycross season is just getting started! Check out the schedule for Rallycross event dates…..

Hudson Valley Mall Saturday 6/15/2013 Test & Tune Results

The results from today’s Test & Tune at HVM have been posted in the results archive. Note that classing information is way off for several people, as classes were not entered into the computer and were keyed as SS (Super Stock) for those who registered at the site.

For those who missed today’s event, Mark VanDeCarr set up a great course. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and none of the 31 drivers present complained about only getting 14 runs and out by 3:00 PM.

If you missed today’s event or stopped by at the mall and wanted to join in the fun, we will be back at the mall bright and early tomorrow morning (6/16) to run our first points event of the season! Registration opens in the paddock lot at 8:00 AM, and as always, first timers are welcome to drive. Hope to see everyone out at the mall for day two of our Kingston weekend…..

10/21/2012 Smashing Pumpkins Rallycross Results Online

Results from the 10/21/2012 Smashing Pumpkins Rallycross are now available in the results archive.

Although rain earlier in the week made using the large pumpkin patch impossible due to mud, the alternate field that we used provided for a decent course albeit a little bit cramped in the paddock area.

We still have one last Rallycross scheduled for 11/18, and hope to see everyone out at the farm again one more time before the snow starts piling up..

10/14/2012 Solo Test & Tune II Results Online

The results from our 10/14 Solo Test & Tune II are available in the results archive. Although the weather forecast called for a chance of morning rain, it ended just as we arrived to set up in the morning and we had a dry but breezy day. Those in attendance received 9 runs on Mark VanDeCarr’s challenging course, and we even had enough time for a short lunch break in the early afternoon.

This wraps up our autocross season for the year, but we still have at least one more Rallycross event scheduled in mid-November before we pack up the cones for the winter…

Results from 9/23 Solo Test & Tune

The results from yesterday’s Solo Test & Tune are now available in the Results Archive. No guarantees for accuracy, since we weren’t scoring it as an official event and I haven’t really audited them before posting.

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer early fall day for an event. Kudos to Jon Cohen from NYR for designing a great course, and a special thanks to PSCC’s core members and Rallycross folks for their assistance in getting nearly quarter of a mile of snow fence set up in less than an hour, along with helping out to keep the event moving. It was good to see some old friends again, as well as lots of new faces.

As was probably obvious to most in attendance, the (volunteer) core members were a little bit rusty in putting on a Solo event and stretched pretty thin at times. If you would like to support our effort to keep an active autocross program operating in the Hudson Valley, please consider coming out to our next monthly meeting on Monday, 10/8 at Daddy O’s in Hopewell Junction and volunteer your assistance as either a specialty chief or worker. (If you know how to use a computer or are familiar with simple electronics, we are especially short of both registration and timing/scoring people.)

We are awaiting final approval for our 10/14 date. Please mark your calendars and keep an eye on the web site for news and online registration to open in the next week or so…..
